I’m Steven — a native British English speaker with 20+ years of corporate experience and 15 years coaching professionals and companies across Brazil.
Institutional Credibility
Before founding relocate·brazil ENGLISH HOUSE, I spent over 15 years in UK corporate governance — including as National Contract Manager at CITB, overseeing one of the nine largest government education contracts in the United Kingdom: £57 million annually, 150 delivery partners nationwide. The reporting and quality systems I personally designed were recognised by Ofsted as Grade 1 Outstanding, and the organisation achieved Five-Star EFQM Recognition for Excellence under that governance. I don’t mention this to impress — I mention it because it’s the same rigour I now bring to every client’s language development: structured, accountable, and built to deliver a result that holds up under scrutiny.

No provider in Brazil combines native British credibility, two decades of UK institutional governance experience, and a genuine on-the-ground São Paulo presence with structured methodology across five specialist areas. I don’t teach English. I build the language performance systems that let already-capable executives perform at the level their expertise deserves.

“Coach, Not Teacher”
You’ll notice some of the words from my clients below say “teacher.” That’s warmth, not something I’d ask anyone to change — in Brazilian Portuguese, “professor” is simply the respectful word for anyone who teaches, whether the room is full of executives or eight-year-olds. English doesn’t have a clean equivalent: “professor” implies a university lecture hall, “teacher” implies a classroom of children. Neither is quite right for what happens in our sessions. So call me Steven — and know that what’s actually happening is coaching: not a curriculum delivered, but the specific language performance your role demands, built with you.
